Perutah Value

The sanctity of ma'aser sheni and neta revay fruit is transferred onto a coin. The minimal value of this coin is a perutah.

The value of a perutah, as of 11 Av 5783 is approximately 9 agorot.
To account for a perutah-and-a-quarter (chomesh, 11.25 agorot) when redeeming your own produce, the minimal value for this coin should be half-a-shekel coin.

The value of a perutah fluctuates and is based on the value of silver. For an explanation of the laws of ma'aser sheni and the ins and outs of this calculation, see here.
