Is it sufficient to soak leafy vegetables in a cleanser?

Question

Is it true that it’s enough to soak leafy vegetables in a fruit and vegetable cleanser (like Sterili) and check a sample (organic vegetables)? In any case, why can’t we just use salt water or vinegar like we used to in the past?

Answer

Rabbis of Torah VeHa’aretz

It is not sufficient to soak leafy vegetables in a cleanser, and even after soaking in Sterili, vinegar, or soapy water. You have to check each leaf under sunlight. We conducted lab tests on regular leafy vegetables soaked in Sterili, and results show that there are still insects visible to the naked eye that don’t wash off after soaking in Sterili for 5 minutes.
