Question

We have 2 apple trees, a lemon tree and a clementine tree. What is the ma'aser year for the fruit?

Answer

Rabbi Moshe Bloom, Nissan 5785

The fruit that began to develop on your tree before Tu Bishevat this year (possibly lemons) still belongs to last year, that is, it requires ma'aser sheni

Based on normative fruit development seasons in Israel this year (and in general), your clementines and apples will have probably started developing after Tu Bishevat this year.

What does this mean?
Even if you harvest them - or lemons that developed after Tu Bishevat this year - after this upcoming Rosh Hashanah, they STILL belong to the ma'aser ani year, 5785, and do not require ma'aser sheni.
So, you'll only say the first berachah and the text that follows until "and if this year requires ma'aser ani, it is ma'aser ani."
