Separating terumot and ma'aserot at an agricultural school using private membership

Question

I have a subscription with Beit Ha'otzar. At the school where I work, I am responsible for the agriculture program. We grow vegetable patches. Since all the vegetables at the school are under my responsibility, I am also the one who separates terumot and ma’aserot from them.
Is there any issue with separating terumot and ma'aserot using my personal subscription with Beit Ha'otzar?
Thank you in advance!

Answer

Rabbi Ehud Achituv | Nisan 5786

Using a private subscription for agricultural produce that is not yours—even if it is under your responsibility—does not suffice for the purpose of giving terumot and ma'aserot. This is because the loan agreement with a Levi and poor (makirei Levi’im and makirei aniyim, respectively) applies only to produce that you own.

Additionally, in public or institutional settings, the quantity of produce typically exceeds the amount covered by a private subscription.
